Greetings Faith Family,

What a wonderful time of the year ADVENT!

We celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ into this world as our Lord and Savior.  During this time of Advent we not only reflect back to the first Christmas morning but we look ahead to that golden daybreak when Jesus shall return to rapture the church.

In the Gospel of Matthew chapter 1 and verse 21 the Bible states, "And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His Name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."  Oh what a Savior we have!

Minnie and I look forward to celebrating this Advent season with each of you. We pray that each of you will be blessed with a very merry Christmas.

We love and appreciate each of you

By His Grace and for His Glory,

Eric

Greetings Faith Family,

Can you believe that it is already November?

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! The Bible states in Psalm 103:1,2 "Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul and forget not all his benefits".

God is indeed so gracious and good. I trust that we will set aside some time during November to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.

Greetings Faith Family,

Can you believe that it is already October?  Soon this year will be completely over.  Time does indeed swiftly pass by.  I'm reminded of Ephesians 5 verse 16:

"Redeeming the time" KJV

"Make the most of every chance you get" The Message Translation.

"Making the most of every opportunity " The NLT Translation.

How do we as Believers make the most of every chance?

1. By Prioritization.  Putting Jesus first.

2. By Prayer.  Daily seeking God's guidance.

3. By Practice.  Living out our faith step by step.

May God grant each of us the wisdom that we need to Redeem the time."

By His Grace and for His Glory,

Eric

Greetings Faith Family,

The Bible states in the Book of Jeremiah 33:3, "Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." At PBC, we have been very blessed as a congregation and as individuals. We have much to be thankful for. As we think about the balance of this year, we need to enter into a season of deep prayer for the church to grow both spiritually and numerically. The passage of scripture in Jeremiah should be a passage that we pray through each day for the balance of this year. We need to experience a genuine move of God that transforms us as a congregation and as individ- uals. So, please join me as we enter a season of prayer that we might experience the guid- ance, the grace and the greatness of God.

Eric

Greetings Faith Family,

July 2023!  It is amazing to think that we are entering the month of July. This year is swiftly passing by. This month as Americans, we celebrate our independence as a nation. There will be fireworks, cookouts, and live music all across our nation. As we celebrate, may we heed the advice given by the writer of the Book of Hebrews. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith " (Hebrews 12:2).  True freedom is indeed a gift from God. At the old rugged cross, Jesus purchased our spiritual freedom for all time and eternity. May we look to Jesus as our Savior and Hope for the future.  The pages of the calendar swiftly change; however, Jesus is the Eternal never changing God. May we trust Him daily.

Eric

The Sweet Hour of Prayer

The Bible states in the Book of Luke 18:1 "Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up."  From the very beginning of the human race, people have prayed.  In all types of places, at all times and in every conceivable situation individuals as well as groups of people have prayed.

Both the Christian and the heathen alike have spent an enormous amount of time in the pursuit of prayer.  However, very few people have truly made prayer a major priority in their life.  Those who have, stand out as bright lights in a dark world.  Many have chosen to pray when it was convenient for them, or when they were undergoing a time of great stress and trial.  Yet it is clear from Luke 18:1 that Jesus wants prayer to hold a preeminent place in our lives.  In the day and age in which we live we need to understand what prayer really is.  By knowing what prayer is will help us to see that it deserves to be a priority in our lives.

Prayer is an Invitation to God.  Mark 5:22-23.

Prayer is Work.  It takes determination and true commitment to pray.

Prayer is a Battle.  Prayer is one of our greatest weapons in the battle between good and evil.

Prayer is Power.  Jeremiah 33:3.

Prayer is a Developer.  Prayer is essential in the development of Christian character.

Prayer is the Fragrance of Christian Activity.  True prayer envelopes all that we do in the breath of Heaven.

Prayer is communication with God.

May we be challenged to pray:

Personally

Persistently

Powerfully.

May God bless each of you, by His Grace and for His Glory,  Eric

Greetings Faith Family,

The month of May has arrived. The year seems to be passing by so fast. Before we know it, the Dog Days of Summer will be upon us, then the cool evenings of the Fall season. The Bible states in the Book of James chapter 4 and verse 14, "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."

It seems that life is constantly changing, in every area and aspect of our existence. However, as believers in Jesus Christ, we can rejoice that our Lord and Savior NEVER changes. The Bible states in the Book of Hebrews chapter 13 and verse 8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today and forever." Jesus Christ provides each one that will trust Him with a firm foundation not only in this life but for all eternity, and in an ever-changing world. That is Good News.

He Is Risen!

The good news of the Easter Season is that Jesus Christ LIVES! The Bible states in The Book of Matthew 28:6,7 "He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: “He had risen from the dead and he is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.”

In that passage of Scripture we notice the following:

1. The Proclamation. "He has risen."
2. The Proof. "Come and see."
3. The Path. "Go quickly and tell"
4. The Promise. Jesus is "going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him."

He Is Alive!!! May we celebrate His Resurrection knowing that because He lives we will live with Him forever.
By His Grace and for His Glory,

Eric
