For many years, we have supported food outreach in the form of donated food items that we have then taken to other organizations. These are worthwhile groups that help with a great need but God has laid upon our hearts to bring this mission work home to Pfattown. We feel PBC could be a point of light for God through this ministry for many right here closer to our home community.
We are establishing a food pantry. Even though Bible Knit SS class is spearheading this project, it is a mission project for the whole church family and we need your help to be successful and glorify our Lord.
When Jesus told Peter to "feed my sheep," He meant to help with people's needs but most importantly to feed and nourish their souls with the truth of Jesus. Meeting physical needs like food makes one more receptive to hearing the truth of our Lord Jesus that will feed, sustain and satisfy their eternal souls. We may have the opportunity to pray with and invite those that come to fellowship with us.
How can you help? Pray for this project as we seek God's guidance as we go through the learning process. Continue to bring nonâperishable food items to fill the bins outside the library in building B. Also, monetary donations can be given to any member of the Bible Knit SS class, placed in the offering plate earmarked "food pantry", or brought to the church office from 8:30 am to noon during the week.
We welcome any ideas you might have on how to fill our shelves. We're excited to see how God will move and allow us to be His hands and feet. We have been blessed so that we may share those blessings.
In His name,
Bible Knit SS Class of Pfafftown Baptist Church
